A clipping campaign, step by step: from the view goal to the final review

You have heard about clipping and want to know how a campaign actually works. Who does what, in what order, and when you step in. Here is the full process, from the first call to the final review.

A clipping campaign, step by step: from the view goal to the final review

What is a clipping campaign?

It is a distribution operation built around a view goal: your content is cut into short clips and published by dozens of accounts that are not yours.

The principle of clipping is simple. You have material: a podcast, lives, a show, interviews, a film, a series, a talk. Clippers, independent editors, extract the best moments, turn them into vertical videos with a hook and subtitles, then publish them on their own TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts accounts.

A campaign gives this mechanism a framework. It sets a view goal, a budget, a scope of approved content and a measurement method. Without this framework, clipping remains a series of isolated posts. With it, it becomes a visibility lever you can steer and compare with your other investments.

What does a clipping service include?

Everything that happens between your raw content and certified views: picking the moments, editing, distribution, view checks and tracking.

A full clipping service is not limited to editing. It recruits and coordinates the clippers, splits the work between them, checks what is published in your name, verifies that the reported views are real and reports back to you. At Virality®, a ViralClips® campaign covers all of it: a network of 500+ vetted French clippers, 2,000+ distribution accounts, views certified by the AntiBotSystem® and live tracking on the Hub®.

If you do not have content to clip yet, production can be added with ViralContent®: writing, shooting and editing the formats, before distribution. Production first, distribution second. To compare providers on these points, our guide to choosing a clipping agency details the seven criteria to check.

Step 1: set the view goal and the budget

Everything starts with one number: how many certified views do you want?

Clipping is paid on a CPM basis, the price per 1,000 views. The view goal therefore sets the budget, not the other way around. At Virality®, the Traction pack guarantees 1M views for €3,000 excl. VAT, a CPM of €3 excl. VAT. The Growth pack guarantees 3M views for €8,700 excl. VAT, a CPM of €2.90 excl. VAT. Beyond that, the Domination pack is a custom monthly subscription, with negotiated volume and CPM.

The goal must stay realistic given your material. One hour of video will not feed a campaign of several million views. Conversely, a rich library lets you aim higher and lowers the cost per view. We explain what drives the price in our article on the cost of a clipping campaign.

Step 2: frame the campaign

Before the first clip, we define together what can be published, and what never will be.

The campaign framework is the most important part of your role. It sets the approved sequences, the people who may appear, music rights and mandatory mentions. Each point is approved before launch. Nothing then leaves the signed scope.

A good framework protects your brand without choking production. Each extra constraint reduces the number of angles clippers can test, and so the chances that a clip takes off. It is one of the reasons we turn down some campaigns, as we explain in our article on the clipping campaigns we turn down.

Step 3: upload your content to the Hub®

This is the only hands-on task left to you: sharing your content.

Your videos are uploaded to the Hub®, the platform where the whole campaign runs. The richer and more varied the material, the more angles clippers can work with. Long content with strong moments works best: podcasts, lives, shows, interviews, films, series, events. Our article on the content that really gets clipped helps you sort before uploading.

No usable content? That is the role of ViralContent®, from €5,000 excl. VAT per campaign for a basic video pack. The new content then goes straight to the clippers, with the same view guarantee.

Step 4: clip production

Clippers spot the best moments and turn them into vertical clips ready to travel.

Each clipper works in their own way, and that is the point. One will pick a strong line, another a moment of surprise, a third a clear explanation. All of them turn their extracts into vertical videos, with a hook in the first seconds, subtitles and effects. The editing cues that make the difference are detailed in our method to make a clip that breaks through.

Volume matters as much as quality. Nobody knows in advance which extract will take off. As a benchmark, the Traction pack means around 200 clips published with 50 to 65 clippers, and the Growth pack around 500 clips with 65 to 100 clippers.

Step 5: distribution on TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Clips are published on the clippers' accounts, never on yours.

This is what makes the format strong. Clips land in the feed as organic content, posted by accounts the audience already follows, not as ads. The network mixes highly engaged micro accounts and large audiences, from 500 to 500,000 followers. The platforms then do their job: a clip watched to the end is shown to more and more people.

Posting on third-party accounts also avoids any confusion with your official accounts. Your audience discovers your best moments elsewhere, then often traces them back to the source. Each platform has its own habits: we cover them in our guides to TikTok clipping, YouTube Shorts clipping and Instagram Reels clipping.

Step 6: view certification and live tracking

Throughout the campaign, every view is checked before it is counted.

In a pay-for-results model, an inflated view is a view billed for nothing. At Virality®, the AntiBotSystem® checks views on three levels: AI checks on the Hub®, manual review of reports and random checks by screen recording. Suspicious views are rejected. Only certified views count toward your goal.

You follow everything on the Hub®: clips come in one by one, and views, likes, comments and shares update live. To know what to look at, and how to read a report without being fooled, see our guide to measuring a clipping campaign.

What happens at the end of the campaign?

You review the results, and keep what worked for next time.

A campaign ends when the certified view goal is reached. Views are guaranteed by contract. If a campaign stops before the goal, the budget stays committed and the view balance goes to your Wallet®: it carries over to your next campaign.

The review is not limited to the total. Look at the best clips: they tell you which moments, angles and hooks speak to your audience. That is the material for the next campaign. Also compare platforms, and the trend of your own indicators: searches for your name, followers, traffic, audience of the source.

Do you have to commit for several months?

No. With the Traction and Growth packs, you pay for a campaign, not a subscription.

A first campaign often serves as a test: it shows how your content travels and what it does for your brand. Those who want to build a lasting presence then move to the Domination pack, a custom monthly subscription, with up to 500 clippers and targeting by age and region.

For labels and artists, the same process applies to music with ViralHits®: clippers publish their usual content and add your track, on the same pricing grid as ViralClips®.

How do you launch your clipping campaign?

Start from your material and your goal, then let the agency handle the rest.

List the content you have, choose a view goal, and think about the limits you want to set. That is all you need for a first call. The rest, recruiting clippers, production, distribution, view checks and tracking, is taken care of.

This is how Virality®, the #1 French clipping agency works: a view goal guaranteed by contract, a framework approved before launch, certified views and live tracking. To discover the offer in detail, visit the ViralClips® page, or estimate your budget on the pricing page and its configurator.
